My Art Life Story

My story as an artist began when I was very young. I loved watching my father paint in his studio in our home as well as listen to my mother sing and write music on her guitar. I was inspired by how much my parents loved being creative and using the gifts God gave them.

 

Growing up in Cincinnati then moving out to Sunman, Indiana at age 9, I found myself wanting to sketch and paint the beautiful countryside around me. At the age of 10, I knew being an artist was what I wanted to spend my life doing. I graduated from Central Academy of Commercial Art in Cincinnati in 1989. I've worked as a graphic designer, illustrator and painter since college. I currently focus full-time on painting in oils, acrylics and watercolor. I teach classes to kids and adults in these mediums. I sell my work through local galleries and my website. I am one that loves the freedom of impressionism and abstraction. I see color and emotion in everything I paint and I focus in on the beauty of life. I love to inspire others to love art and to see life from a deeper perspective. So much joy comes from painting and drawing because it's not just about being an artist but its about my deeper connection to God and inspiring others to view life with the lens of love.
